Hearth in blast furnace B lined without incident
It took 1,700 tons of fire-resistant material to line the hearth of blast furnace B in and around the furnace. In some sections, there was a residual wall thickness of about 50 mm of intact carbon brick – the wall was originally 1,000 mm thick.
