For five years, Salzgitter Flachstahl has been supplying hot-dipped galvanized thin sheet, among other products, to the globally operating company with its business segments Industrial Packaging, Energy Systems and Industry Services. Highest product quality, close cooperation with the customer and dedicated environmental management are important principles of both companies.

The QM system that has been certified at Salzgitter Flachstahl since 1990, has once again been successfully recertified (now for the sixth time) by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance (LRQA). Three auditors spent four days auditing the entire manufacturing chain, as well as the supporting processes.

Ford ranks as one of the world’s largest automotive manufacturers with locations in North America (Ford), Europe (Ford, Volvo, Land Rover, Jaguar and Aston Martin) and Asia (Mazda). In order to guarantee a uniformly high production and quality standard throughout the world, Ford has established its own quality system that aims to ensure that suppliers meet these standards. This system is known as Q1.
Salzgitter Flachstahl has now been certified as a Q1 supplier, once again demonstrating the high quality of its products.

The new eService platform offers our customers direct, immediate access to all data concerning every aspect of their orders. This is taking Salzgitter Flachstahl another step further in enhancing its ongoing, partnership-based dialog with its customers.

Construction work for the new Salzgitter Flachstahl continuous pickling line began in January. This facility will set new standards in Europe with regard to surface quality, strip flatness and coiling condition. The deployed laser welding technology enables pickling of high-grade steels with hydrochloric acid in continuous operation. With this step, Salzgitter Flachstahl is continuing to chart a consistent course towards achieving superior quality and stringent delivery reliability.
