For the first time the Blech Nordic event took place in Stockholm from October 4 through to 7, 2011. On location Salzgitter Flachstahl and Salzgitter Mannesmann Scandinavia presented their services and products to professionals from Scandinavia.
Traditionally there is a strong demand for hot-dip galvanized products in Scandinavia. As a genuine highlight among hot-dip galvanized products Salzgitter Flachstahl showcased the all-new product StroncoatŪ. StroncoatŪ is a further developed zinc-based corrosion protection coating with a small proportion of magnesium and aluminum.
Many visitors were impressed by the Stroncoat samples. The VW Tiguan exhibit met with especially strong interest.
A seminar was also held as part of the trade fair activities. Dr. Maiwald gave an engaging presentation that provided customers a concise account of the economic benefits of Stroncoat. The use of StroncoatŪ allows a reduction of zinc consumption on the one hand, thereby saving resources, while lower zinc volumes result in lower component weight, thereby opening up new potentials in lightweight construction.
Maik Lintl, a sales professional at Salzgitter Flachstahl, is convinced of the success of the trade fair: "As an internationally operating steel manufacturer we are very pleased to be showcasing our high quality products at this event."
As Roland Tomicic from Salzgitter Mannesmann Scandinavia went on to confirm: "The team, comprising a combination of representatives from the plants as well as the Scandinavian sales team, cooperated very smoothly. Drawing on our strengths, we are looking forward to a great future on these markets."
