The new General Terms and Conditions of Delivery and Payment of Salzgitter Flachstahl GmbH will come into effect on July 1st, 2010.

The heat treatment of steel looks back on a long tradition. In many cases, the component properties can only be achieved as required outside of the steel mill and hot strip plant by further heat treatment in the actual component manufacturing process.

The term hotmelt denotes dry lubricants on mineral oil base that have a higher melting temperature, i.e. they exhibit a wax-like consistency at room temperature. These products have significant advantages compared to products for standard oiling.

Whether the tongue for a car seat belt, the blade on a lawn mower or the drawer slide for a desk – they all have one thing in common: they could very well be parts made from cold-rolled strip by Risse + Wilke Kaltband - and have originated in one of the blast furnaces in Salzgitter, Germany.

A large portion of the energy required in the strip coating plant is provided in the form of natural gas. In the year 2003, Salzgitter Flachstahl initiated an energy optimization program for the strip coating process.
