Steel grades – Mild non-alloy steels for direct cold-forming

Usage

These steel grades are characterised by a yield strength of 170 - 360 MPa and by outstanding formability. They may be used for deep-drawing and forming by bending. The user of these steel grades must make sure that his calculation, design and processing methods are appropriate for the material. The forming technique used must be suitable for the intended application and comply with the state-of-the-art. For particularly complex forming operations, we offer steel grades DD14 Ti (titaniumalloyed) and DD14 Bor (boron-alloyed). For further information on DD14 Ti and DD14 Bor, see our Material brochures.

1) The samples for the tensile test are taken at right angles to rolling direction unless the product width isopposed to this.
2) e = Nominal thickness in mm
3) Mechanical values for greater thicknesses on request.

Welding

These steels can be welded using all standard welding methods without pre-heating.
