Since 1998 the Steel Institute VDEh, the German Steel Federation, as well as other organisations and institutes from the steel industry, have been working together as part of the Steel Centre. As legally independent organisations they combine their roles within the Steel Centre, aiming to represent the steel industry both in political and business worlds and in society more effectively.

The Steel Information Centre is a joint association of the German steel industry. Geared to the market and applications it provides independent information on processing and using steel as a material.
