Decorative FolaSal® wrinkle coating for the building housing the new hot dip galvanizing line

For many years numerous works buildings and quite a few administrative premises on the Salzgitter Flachstahl steelworks site have been clad with FolaSal^®-coated roof and wall sections. Whereas most of these coatings have involved smooth polyester systems in red-brown, aluminum white and grey white color shades recently completed operational building of the hot-dip galvanizing 3, a wrinkle coating in the color oxide red was applied for the first time.

Wrinkle coatings are special effects which create a particular surface texture thanks to the inclusion of special polyamide additives. The result is to give the coated façade elements a very high-quality, aesthetic appearance. In addition, this coating exhibits outstanding UV resistance and withstands scratching and abrasion. In view of these properties, wrinkle coatings are well suited to applications which call for a particular visual accent, as well as for areas that require a robust, weather-proof surface finish.
