Dissipative FolaSal® coatings

Paint- or foil-based coatings typically have an electrically insulating effect. For the majority of applications, this presents no problem. But it is a different matter when the coated material is intended for use in clean rooms. Clean rooms are required for example in the manufacture of semiconductors, in laser- and nano-technology, aerospace, and in the pharmaceutical industry. In such cases, it is a question of keeping the concentration of so-called airborne particles at a very low level. One major precondition in achieving this is to prevent any surfaces in these rooms from becoming electrostatically charged, given that this is known to act as a "dust magnet". The same applies to wall and ceiling claddings. By using dissipative FolaSal® coatings, it is possible to avoid the build-up of an electrostatic charge on such components. These coatings contain conductive pigments and have a surface resistance of between 104 and 108 ohms. They can be supplied in various color shades and coating thicknesses between 25 and 30 µm. A self-adhesive protective foil can also be applied.
