Dr. Heike Denecke-Arnold takes over as Chairwoman of the Management Board of Salzgitter Flachstahl GmbH

On May 1, 2025, Dr. Heike Denecke-Arnold took over as Chairwoman of the Management Board of Salzgitter Flachstahl GmbH and become a member of the Group Management Board for the Steel Production Division. 

Dr. Denecke-Arnold has more than 25 years of experience in the steel industry and brings with her extensive knowledge in the areas of production, sales, marketing, quality, SCM and logistics. She completed her studies and doctorate in metallurgy and materials engineering at RWTH Aachen University.

Her work focuses on the consistent further development of the company as part of the ongoing transformation towards low-CO₂ production processes. A particular focus is on the SALCOS® - Salzgitter Low CO₂ Steelmaking program, which aims to pave the way for sustainable steel production.

“I am looking forward to taking on responsibility in this exciting and challenging phase of the company and successfully implementing the transformation together with all the teams. Steel will remain the number one industrial material and will continue to be produced successfully in Germany in the future,” explains Dr. Denecke-Arnold.
