Expansion to the FolaSal® range of dimensions

Under the brand name FolaSal^® Salzgitter Flachstahl offers its customers ready-to-use, coated steel sheet products. The available coating systems and colors are so diverse that the FolaSal^® products have established themselves for the most varied applications in the widest range of industries. Examples of classic applications are bearing profiles for construction, side and front panels of household appliances, linear luminaires, enclosures for air conditioning and ventilation technology, laboratory and clean room equipment, and many more.

In some cases, particularly for bearing elements, materials 3 mm thick are required. Until recently, it was only possible to offer this thickness in widths up to 1000 mm because the strip coating line was designed for material cross-sections of a maximum of 3000 mm². But because our customers have sometimes also inquired about FolaSal^® measuring 3.00 mm x 1250 mm, the company decided to strengthen the drives in order to allow the strip coating line to coat material with strip cross-sections up to 3750 mm². The line's retrofitting and recommissioning have meanwhile been completed, so that it is now also possible to fulfill customer requests for FolaSal^® measuring 3 mm x 1250 mm.

It is also possible to deliver material 3 mm thick in dimensions under 900 mm. In this case, the rings are divided in the middle before passing through the strip coating.
