New StronSal® Brochure

StronSal^® is the hot-dipped corrosion protection solution of Salzgitter Flachstahl, which consists of zinc as well as small fractions of magnesium (1 to 2 %) and aluminum (1 to 2 %). StronSal^® achieves corrosion protection that far exceeds that of conventional zinc coatings with the same coating thickness. It is particularly suitable for automotive body parts in which corrosion protection at cut edges is very important. StronSal^® is furthermore ideally suited for the chassis area, because these applications are capable of achieving substantial cost advantages compared to batch zinc-plating. This special hot-dipped coating can be thinner and lighter as conventional zinc coatings with a comparable corrosion protection, thus adding significant contributions to light-weight automobile construction and conserves resources because of the reduced zinc consumption.
