Salzgitter Flachstahl at the Blechexpo 2019

The 14th International Sheet Metalworking Trade Fair opens its doors in Stuttgart from November 05 to 08, 2019, with a focus on all of the relevant topics and trends in the digitized and automated world of sheet metalworking. Industry 4.0, smart factories and increasing automation are at this very moment compelling companies to make fundamental investment decisions to upgrade and adapt their production technologies. As a global barometer of industrial trends in the sheet metalworking sector, the exhibition presents a comprehensive spectrum of customized systems designed to modernize production processes and safeguard competitiveness. Salzgitter Flachstahl will be there too along with its fellow Group member companies on Stand 10411 in Halle 10.

This year Salzgitter Flachstahl will be presenting its new hot strip- slitting line. The progressive reduction in the weight of motor vehicles is leading to an increased market demand for strip steel in thinner dimensions and ever stronger qualities. With its new hot strip slitting line, Salzgitter Flachstahl has increased its capacity by more than 50 % to 460,000 tonnes of strip steel per year to meet the rising demand for high- and ultra-high-strength steels. And with the ability to carry out a visual inspection of both upper and undersides of the strip, the company can meet even the highest demands for surface quality.
As a particular highlight, with the aid of virtual reality glasses visitors to the exhibition can take an interactive tour of the hot strip slitter.

A terminal will also be available via which visitors can view details of the product range and variety of applications for the strip steel produced by Salzgitter Flachstahl.

In addition to the hot strip slitting line, sister company Salzgitter Mannesmann Stahlservice GmbH will be showcasing its new multi-blanking line.
