Salzgitter Group with new key theme at the Hannover Trade Fair

“A new way of thinking for a new industry” – this is the motto for the Salzgitter Group’s presentation at the Hannover Trade Fair, Stand H44, Hall 3, from April 17 to 21. “Our ‘Salzgitter AG 2030’ strategy is no longer just to be found on paper, we’re half way through implementing it. Salzgitter AG is playing a leading role in the circular economy as well as the transformation of steel production to “green” steel. And that’s what we’ll also be showcasing on our stand, because #wemakeithappen”, explains Thorsten Möllmann, Head of Group Communications & Brand. “The Fair also gives us a chance to meet our partners and customers again in Hannover which we’re really looking forward to.”
 
Pursuing the SALCOS® - Salzgitter Low CO2 Steelmaking program, Salzgitter AG, together with its partners, is embarking on the road to almost carbon-free steel production. This will be made tangible on the stand by a large model illustrating this transformation. There will also be a chassis model on the stand in which all the automotive products that now will be produced from Salzgitter AG’s “green steel” are fitted – and highlighted in a different color.
 
“We are working closely with prestigious partners on our path to carbon-free steel production. We will demonstrate examples of such collaboration, true to the Group mission of “Partnering for Transformation”, and hold a dialog with our stakeholders such as political and administrative decision-makers, customers and partners as well as the wider public”, states Frank Seinsche who is responsible for trade fairs in the Salzgitter Group. The examples come from the areas of logistics, steel applications for mobility and steel production. For example, a unique system for implementing a circular economy in steel production will be presented on the stand in the form of the m2-Waggon®. In line with the vision, “Pioneering for Circular Solutions”, this unique innovation allows coils and their associated scrap to be transported together in one freight car, thereby guaranteeing both economic and ecological efficiency.
 
The trade fair constitutes a key communication platform for the Salzgitter Group. For example, on the Wednesday of the fair, the Salzgitter stand will be the meeting point for policy makers and business leaders from Lower Saxony. The Business Confederations are extending an invitation to their traditional Lower Saxony evening on this date.
