Advance Notice Euroblech 2016

The 24th international technology fair for sheet metal working will open its doors again from October 25-29, 2016 in Hanover. The motto of EuroBLECH 2016, "The New Generation of Sheet Metal Working", arises from the current technological transformation in industrial production. Industry 4.0, networked production and intelligent process chains currently demand from companies fundamental investment decisions for the re-equipment and adaptation of their production technologies. As the worldwide industry and trend barometer of the metalworking industry, the fair displays a comprehensive spectrum of made-to-measure systems for modernizing production processes and keeping them competitive. Salzgitter Flachstahl will also be on location with its affiliates at Stand D78 in Hall 17.

Attractive exhibits showcase the bandwidth of Salzgitter Flachstahl's material portfolio. Since one of this year's main focuses is the target group of the cold-rolling industry, a special highlight is a clutch transmission from the company ZF. Salzgitter Flachstahl uses these exhibition pieces as examples of the application breadth of the wide-ranging product portfolio of case-hardening and heat-treatable steels from Salzgitter.

As an additional highlight product, Salzgitter Flachstahl will be highlighting the StronSal^®MC  product at this year’s stand. This innovative zinc-magnesium coating for sheet now meets the demands and requirements for automotive exterior skin parts. Thanks to its improved corrosion protection, StronSal^®MC allows the thickness of the external layer to be reduced without loss of corrosion resistance. The reduction of the zinc content also leads to weight savings, which has positive effects on the CO2 balance. The extremely good tribological characteristics are an additional argument favoring the use of StronSal^®MC in the exterior skin area: StronSal^®MC's optimized frictional properties offer the automotive manufacturers additional savings potentials, in connection with significantly reduced abrasion in tools, thereby increasing the process stability in the press shop.
