Conversion to the new SAP S/4 Hana software

In common with many other large companies, Salzgitter Flachstahl uses SAP R/3 as its corporate information system in order to be able to consider all relevant business areas in context and control all its business management processes. As part of its IT strategy Salzgitter Flachstahl is therefore getting to grips with the issue of migrating to the new SAP S/4 Hana software. This new version will enable the company to structure many of its business processes more efficiently and in some cases accelerate them.

For this reason Salzgitter Flachstahl is taking the opportunity afforded by the implementation of S/4 Hana to review its existing processes and procedures. During the past year, the potential for optimization has been identified in various areas and a variety of projects initiated.

An important element in the changeover is the Group-wide harmonization of customer, supplier and business partner master data. As part of the conversion process, in the coming months Salzgitter Flachstahl will be keeping two accounts in parallel for each partner, with information sent separately to each account. Salzgitter Flachstahl will attempt to minimize the associated inconvenience, and we would ask you to please bear with us in the event that any short-term disruptions should occur during this process.

The implementation of S/4 Hana represents a substantial intervention in our essential business processes. The changes will be implemented gradually and carefully, with a strict eye to the performance and efficiency of Salzgitter Flachstahl.
Conversion to S/4 Hana is scheduled for completion in the year 2025.
