Truck semi-trailer made of SALCOS at the IAA

The name TektoSal® is a wear-resistant special structural steel made from hot-rolled strip. It is used for particularly stressed constructions with additional requirements for weldability and formability. Typical applications include earthmoving and mining machinery, chute plates and mixer transport systems as well as other components that are subject to predominantly frictional wear. The name was inspired by the properties of the tropical teak tree wood, Latin “tektona grandis”. The teak tree provides a particularly resistant and durable wood.

As a green further development for the body and chassis, the steels used also offer the well-known high quality in the upper strength classes, while at the same time reducing CO2 emissions in the production process. As a pioneering product, the semi-trailer thus makes an active contribution to sustainable transportation. The semi-trailer can be viewed at the IAA Transportation in Hanover until September 22, 2024.
